Roman Empire Rise and fall?

please, i need the main points of why the roman empire rose and fell, thanks

Rome is a city in Italy, that during it's earliest periods was a kingdom, but after many problems with this system of government, they killed the last of the Roman kings and became the Roman Republic (SPQR). This Republic was much more of a stabilized government, and allowed for better decisions and more organized governing to take place. Taking on many cultural similarities to the Greeks they were able to grow into the Italian Peninsula and fight off the Gaulic tribes to the North, and the Epirus people, the Samnites, and the Latin league to the south.

With control of Italy they saw the new challenge of fighting against another growing empire, Carthage. Carthage was a city in modern day Tunisia. It had a large military and was seen as an arrow aimed at Rome itself. After large amounts of Sicily were absorbed into the Roman Republic, Carthage declared war. Mainly naval battles took place in the First Punic war, but after a surprise attack, Carthage surrendered to Rome. The second Punic war was led by Hannibal. Hannibal famously took his army plus a few elephants over the Alps to face Rome in the North. Hannibal defeated many of the generals but due to the lack of siege equipment, he did not assault Rome. Soon Rome built up the power to attack Carthage directly, Hannibal was ordered back to defend. In northern Africa Rome defeated Hannibal and ended the second Punic war. A treaty was then made that the Carthaginians were not able to dispatch military forces without the express permission of Rome. Carthage, after one of their Towns had been taken by numidians, dispatched an army to face them, thus violating the treaty. Rome Dispatched an army to face Carthage and Carthage was burnt and raised to the ground, where they then apparently spread salt across the ground so that nothing would ever grow there again.

After Carthage and it's people no longer being a threat, Rome was able to take all of Iberia, and start to move into Greece and Macedonia. This lead to the Macedonian wars in which Rome conquered Macedon and all of Greece. After the Macedonian wars, a dying King Atalus III of Pergamum left all of his lands to Rome to avoid, meaning that most of Asia Minor became in control of Rome.

Over the next century many of the important policies that kept peace within Rome and it's Senate were broken under times of Pressure. Then Julius Caesar led an army into Gaul and Germania and Conquered all of Gaul (Modern day France).
After conquering these lands Julius Caesar rallied his army to take Rome for himself. Julius succeeded in the taking of Rome against the Senate and Pompey, and became 'Dictator for Life', but not emperor. He was later assassinated by past Senators.

Augustus Caesar became the first Emperor of the Roman Empire as he came to power, and the rule of Roman emperors began. Over the next 300 years the Roman empire experienced Barbarian invasion, rebellions, political disputes and the splitting of the empire between east and west.
The roman empire mainly fell over the mass hordes of 'Barbarians' that had dwelled beyond the river Rhine. But these barbarians were didn't originally have the ambition to take lands from the Romans. The eastern people named the Huns made their way through northern eastern Europe and causing many other tribes and people to migrate westwards to avoid being pillaged by this new threat. The Goths, the Franks, the Lombardii, the Burgundii, and the Saxons saw this new threat and migrated to the western empire, whether by force or peace. The Saxons sailed boats for new lands in Britannia. The Franks took much of Gaul from the western Roman Empire, The Vandals took southern Hispania (Spain) but then being driven out to northern Africa. There they settled in modern day Tunisia and Algeria and pillaged the islands around Rome and then finally sacked Rome. The lombardii took northern Italy, the Burgundii took southern Gaul. The Goths splitted into the Visigoths and the Ostrogoths. The Visigoths claimed most of the Iberian peninsula and south western France, leading to wars with the franks. The Ostrogoths claimed much of Italy and Austria. This led to the major downfall to the western Roman Empire. The Eastern Roman Empire however, was able to survive as the Byzantines. They led wars against the Sassanian empire and defended their capitol, Constantinople (modern day Istanbul) against the 'barbarians'. They finally fell when the Ottomans invaded in 1453. Thus ending the Roman Nations, but the mark that the Romans made on modern Europe is shown everywhere, the names have stuck and the stories have lasted.
