what happens if a car is impounded would I pay an extra fine if the car is sold or destroyed?

my husband was driving a car registered in my name and while I was on vacation and he called me stating that he was pulled over because he was driving without a lisence and he had marijuana on him. He did not go to jail yet the car was impounded. I want to know if I left the car in impound and the car were sold or destroyed would I be charged any addition fees?
I live in Wisconsin the car was impouned in Milwaukee

If impounded, usually it's taken to a lot somewhere and locked up, the only way to get it out is to first go to the police station, you will have to pay a fine, then, they will give you a slip of paper that will give the lot permission to release your car, but, the lot will also have a bill for you, one for the towing of your vehicle and another for the storage. Usually a daily fee and they can sometimes be pricey...If you can't pay, they will be happy to accept the pink slip to your car...either way, they rake you...
